- Start back to a good routine of a regular bedtime and getting up at the time you need to, to get ready for school about a week prior to school starting
- Get your supplies and back-pack ready
- Review basic math facts using flashcards or digital apps as well as read a book or two
- Parents, have a positive attitude about school and pass that on to your child
- Remember it's a new year and you start with a clean slate
- If you/your child struggled with a subject last year, be sure to watch for any signs s/he is starting to struggle once this year gets underway and then be sure to talk with the teacher to find ways that you can help at home. Teachers usually have several ideas for helping. If that isn't enough, then talk with your teacher/counselor to see if they might know someone who might tutor in that grade/subject area, then act on it.
Here's to another fun year of learning and growing! Remember you never stop learning!
